Verve, Africa’s leading domestic payments card scheme and a subsidiary of Interswitch Group, has announced Google Play as a strategic partner for the 8th edition of VerveLife, Africa’s largest and most celebrated fitness event series.
Since its launch eight years ago, VerveLife has grown into a flagship lifestyle and wellness initiative, revolutionising fitness culture in Nigeria and across Africa. The annual event attracts more than 14,000 participants from West and East Africa, featuring high-intensity workouts, dance routines, fitness challenges, and a grand after-party.
Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Interswitch Group, said the partnership with Google Play will raise the bar for this year’s edition:
“We are thoroughly thrilled to take VerveLife to new heights this year. With the value that Google brings on board, our VerveLife 8.0 participants should look forward to exhilarating experiences, exclusive merchandise, and exciting rewards.”
Commenting on the partnership, Anthea Crawford, Head of Retail and Payment Partnerships at Google Play, noted that the collaboration not only enriches VerveLife but also simplifies payment processes on the Google Play Store and YouTube for Verve cardholders.
This year’s VerveLife fitness train will tour Enugu (Aug 30), Ibadan (Sept 13), Abuja (Sept 27), Kampala (Uganda), and Nairobi (Kenya), before culminating in the highly anticipated grand finale on November 1, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
Themed “Elev8”, VerveLife 8.0 is set to unite fitness enthusiasts across Africa in an unforgettable celebration of health, wellness, and lifestyle.
