NESCAFÉ Serves 65,000 Cups Nationwide to Celebrate International Coffee Day and Nigeria’s 65th Independence

Lagos, Nigeria – October 1, 2025: NESCAFÉ has marked International Coffee Day and Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary with a large-scale nationwide activation, sampling 65,000 cups of coffee across 25 cities.

The activation reached consumers in universities, markets, business districts, and community hubs across Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, Jos, Nasarawa, Minna, Kaduna, Bauchi, Owerri, Onitsha, Abeokuta, Ilorin, Calabar, Uyo, Lokoja, Lafia, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Maiduguri, Yola, Benin, Asaba, Makurdi, and Sokoto.

The initiative followed the relaunch of NESCAFÉ 3-in-1, now enhanced with creamier texture, a smooth milky taste, and its signature aroma delivered in design-for-recycling packaging as part of Nestlé’s sustainability commitments.

Speaking at the event, Jean-Pierre Duplan, Category Manager, Coffee, Nestlé Nigeria, explained:

“We relaunched NESCAFÉ 3-in-1 earlier this year, shaped by consumer preferences and packaged sustainably. Celebrating both International Coffee Day and Nigeria’s 65th Independence with 65,000 cups nationwide is our way of delighting consumers while reinforcing NESCAFÉ’s role in everyday coffee moments.”

Consumers welcomed the experience with enthusiasm. Tobilola Felix, a participant in Lagos, said:

“Getting my free cup of NESCAFÉ on Independence Day was a pleasant surprise. It gave me a great start to my day and reminded me of the pride we share as Nigerians.”

Beyond consumer activations, NESCAFÉ is advancing youth empowerment through its MYOWBU (My Own Business) program, which together with Nestlé Professional has empowered over 1,400 young Nigerians to start their own businesses and achieve financial independence.

With more than 63 years in Nigeria, Nestlé continues to deliver iconic brands like Maggi, Milo, Golden Morn, and Cerelac, while investing in sustainability and community development.
